Central Railway’s Accounts & Finance Department: True Champion during Nationwide lockdown
Central Railway Accounts department has emerged true champions during the Nationwide lockdown to fight against COVID19 by way of arranging and disbursing timely payment and credit to its numerous stakeholders like its own employees, retiring employees, railway contractors, State and Central Government departments for water, electricity, GST etc. related payments. The dedicated officers and staff of the Accounts Department rose to the occasion and executed the tasks before them in a systematic manner.
The Accounts and Finance department has managed the settlement benefits of 364 retiring employees in March 2020 and 307 retiring employees in April 2020 were disbursed successfully and credited to their bank accounts.
Field accounting units have been dealing with estimates, tenders and indents on regular basis using online working methods and often burning the midnight oil so as to keep the mettle functioning without any brakes by dealing with COVID19 requirements and payments involved in safety masks, sanitizers, PPEs etc.
The IT centre functioning under Accounts department has been very active by providing unflinching technological support to the entire staff and officers and helping in smooth online work on online systems. The above has been made possible only due to the relentless and painstaking efforts of the hardworking, sincere devoted staff/officers of Accounts & Finance department.
